Empowerment Through SkillsInclusion Through Opportunity
Seven modules for life and work
Each module follows the SMILE soft skills curriculum written by the project partners. The sessions, their order, their timing and the learning outcomes are the same as in the face-to-face training. Take the modules in any order.
All modules-
Communication
Speak, write and listen with confidence at work: clear messages, body language, active listening, feedback, conflict and a job interview simulation, built on real situations of young newcomers.
8 h18 lessons51 activitiesWatch the Communication introduction -
Empathy
Practise empathy for work and community life. Listen actively, see the layers behind people's reactions, calm conflicts and avoid the "saviour" trap, with stories, role-plays and personal reflection.

Adaptability
Adjust to a new country and a new job without losing who you are: handle change, language mishaps, feedback and stress, and know the fair conditions every worker is entitled to.

Leadership
Leadership without a title: small, everyday actions that help people move forward at work, in training and in your community, with safe and realistic steps for young newcomers.

Problem Solving
Learn a clear five-step way to handle problems at work, in training and in daily life in a new country: from unclear instructions and stress to missing hours on a payslip.

Teamwork
Teamwork as shared responsibility: learn the skills, handle language barriers, unwritten rules and unfair task sharing, and practise in real situations from kitchens, warehouses, care teams and training groups.

Time Management
Time management as support, not pressure: see where your time goes, handle stress, waiting, phones and delays, and build small routines for a life with shifts, courses and family.

Open Communication
Not sure where to start?
Communication is a good first module: it prepares you for interviews, team talk and feedback at work. Then choose what you need most.
How learning works here
Lessons are short and written in plain English. Every example comes from the real life of young newcomers: a first job interview, a message to your shift manager, a payslip you do not understand, a team where nobody speaks your language.
-
Step 1
Read
Short lessons with clear examples, key words and tips you can use the same day.
-
Step 2
Practise
Choose what to say in a role-play, sort tasks by priority, map what another person feels, decide how a case ends.
-
Step 3
Reflect
Self-assessments and a personal action plan. Your written answers are saved in your account, and other learners cannot see them.
-
Step 4
Get certified
Finish a module and its knowledge check to receive a certificate with a code that employers can verify online.
Try a lesson without an account
These lessons are open to everyone. Your answers are not saved until you join.
